KTR Proposes "Establishment of Semiconductor Specialized Testing and Certification Center"
Lee Sang-il, Mayor of Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province, visited the Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR) in Jungang-dong, Gwacheon City on the 10th to discuss cooperation plans for strengthening Yongin's semiconductor ecosystem and supporting local materials, parts, and equipment companies.
Mayor Lee held a meeting with KTR President Kim Hyun-chul and others to discuss ways to collaborate between the two organizations.

At the meeting, President Kim proposed, "We would like to work with Yongin City to establish a comprehensive testing and certification center specialized in semiconductors in Yongin and provide one-stop services," the city explained.
Mayor Lee also responded, "If KTR operates a semiconductor-related technology testing and certification center in Yongin, many semiconductor-related companies will welcome it, so let's build a good cooperative relationship."

KTR is a domestic specialized testing and certification institution providing testing, certification, and consulting services across all industrial sectors including materials, parts, convergence, chemistry, environment, construction, electricity, electronics, energy, medical, bio, healthcare, automotive, and shipbuilding and marine industries. It issues approximately 470,000 test reports annually to about 30,000 companies and is designated by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) for about 3,000 items. It has 29 branches and support offices nationwide, and in Yongin, it operates the Electric, Electronics and Energy Research Institute in Yangji-myeon, Cheoin-gu.
