POSCO E&C structured the event to discuss AI technology development trends and applications through external lectures and research case presentations. About 80 students majoring in construction and data analysis from over 20 universities and graduate schools near the metropolitan area participated.
The first presenter at the forum was Professor Dongin Jang from the KAIST Graduate School of AI, who raised the topic of "The Future of Business and Work Brought by AI Technology." Professor Jang emphasized, "AI has gone through two winters and is now entering its third period of interest. In particular, new innovations in AI and machine learning are significantly transforming the entire construction industry, including architecture and engineering, and those who fail to adapt to these changes will be left behind."
Presentations on AI model development and application cases by POSCO E&C in various fields followed. Each researcher introduced ongoing projects in areas such as ▲regional apartment sales prediction ▲construction material price forecasting ▲early detection of risks in construction partner companies ▲contract document review based on large-scale AI, sharing difficulties encountered and solutions experienced while integrating AI technology in research and development (R&D) sites.
Kim Miri, a student from Soongsil University majoring in Architectural Engineering who attended the forum, said, "It was a great opportunity to understand how AI technology is actually applied in the construction industry field."
