This initiative was selected through a contest held by the Korea Disabled Development Institute this year, and the district promoted the project to assist hearing-impaired elderly individuals in communicating when visiting banks.
In particular, during the production process, a preliminary survey was conducted on the banking tasks most commonly performed by elderly people to ensure that frequently used expressions were comprehensively included.
The picture and text boards contain phrases such as “Please show your ID,” “Please enter your PIN,” “I have difficulty hearing. Please speak loudly,” “Please exaggerate your lip movements,” and “I have been a victim of voice phishing,” accompanied by illustrations depicting conversations between bank clerks and customers.
Additionally, words and sentences like passbook, home address, digital certificate, password, utility bills, savings, maturity (withdraw), “I don’t know,” and “I lost it” are included. Cautionary notes such as “Do not lend your passbook to others” are also displayed.
