Gas Leak at Building Near Sillim Station on Line 2... Subway Service Resumes After Control
At around 3 p.m. on the 9th, a gas leak occurred at a shopping center near Sillim Station in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, causing Line 2 subway trains to pass through without stopping.
According to Seoul Metro, halon gas leaked into the basement of the shopping center near exits 1 and 2 of Sillim Station on Line 2, and an employee reported the incident.
Seoul Metro immediately had the subway trains passing through Sillim Station bypass the station without stopping and restricted access to exits 1 and 2. Fire authorities arrived and conducted ventilation work, after which subway operations resumed.
Seoul Metro stated, "The non-stop passage of Line 2 trains at Sillim Station is currently operating normally after confirming that ventilation was completed and there were no abnormalities."
