Most of the deceased or missing Americans are known to hold dual citizenship, and since this is based on initial reports from the U.S. Embassy in Israel, the actual numbers may change, the media outlet noted.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in an interview with CBS News, "There are reports that Americans have been taken hostage, and we are working to verify the accuracy of these reports."
Two Ukrainians have also become victims of the recent armed conflict. Oleg Nikolenko, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told AFP, "We have confirmed information that two Ukrainian women died in Israel. Both had been residing in Israel for a long time," adding that the consulate is in contact with the victims' families.
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs also announced that one French citizen residing in Israel was killed in the Hamas attack, and several others are missing.
The German Foreign Ministry stated that at least one German national is believed to be among the hostages taken by Hamas in Israel. However, the ministry explained that these individuals hold both German and Israeli citizenship.

The Nepalese Foreign Minister expressed concern on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating, "Seventeen Nepalese students were enrolled at an agricultural university near the Gaza Strip border.
