Bank of Korea Issues Four Commemorative Coins Featuring 'Four Seasons of Korea's Famous Mountains'
The Bank of Korea announced on the 9th that it plans to issue a set of four commemorative coins (silver coins and 50,000 won coins) titled "The Four Seasons of Korea's Famous Mountains" to widely promote the beauty of Korea's famous mountains, which have distinct characteristics in each of the four seasons, both domestically and internationally.
The coin designs were selected based on popular preference among the public, featuring Hallasan, Jirisan, Seoraksan, and Taebaeksan Mountains.
The obverse side depicts natural landscapes that clearly represent the characteristics of each season, while the reverse side shows the contour lines and elevations of each mountain.
Notably, the obverse side features a square frame designed to give the impression of looking at the mountain through a window. The total issuance volume is 40,000 coins, with 10,000 coins per type.

The "Four Seasons of Korea's Famous Mountains" commemorative coins will be available for pre-order by the public from the 30th of this month until the 20th of next month, and will be distributed starting December 29.
