"Leading the Creation of a Healthy Cheer Culture"
SK Telecom announced on the 9th that it has successfully concluded the nationwide cheering campaign "We Are the National Team," held during the Hangzhou Asian Games.
The campaign consisted of offline events such as the SKT-sponsored athletes' send-off ceremony and live broadcasts of the League of Legends finals, as well as an online cheering campaign.
During the tournament, a campaign page was operated on Naver Sports to wish for the national team's success and to unite the spirit of support.
Approximately 50 million cheering messages were delivered to the national athletes, and in response, SKT plans to donate 100 million KRW to the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee to support the development of the national team.
SKT has consistently sponsored various sports such as golf, basketball, swimming, fencing, and e-sports to promote balanced sports development. It also supports the nurturing of talents in diverse fields including athletics, weightlifting, rhythmic gymnastics, skateboarding, and breaking.
A documentary video vividly capturing the preparation process of the sponsored athletes for the Asian Games will be broadcast on SKT’s sports YouTube channel, SKLIKE.
Beyond this Asian Games, SKT plans to continue supporting athletes to expand the domestic sports base and take the lead in fostering a healthy cheering culture through the development of various content.
Meanwhile, athletes who made medal pledges at the Team SK Hangzhou Asian Games send-off ceremony in August will fulfill their promises to the fans who supported them.
The athletes pledged that if they win medals, they will present meaningful memorabilia or signed uniforms to fans or engage in activities meaningful to their supporters.
