Gyeongnam Office of Education Official Booked on Charges of Assaulting and Stalking Woman He Was Seeing
A public official has been booked by the police on charges of assaulting a woman he usually met and making unwanted contact.
The Changwon Jungbu Police Station in Gyeongnam announced on the 6th that they have booked Mr. A, a man in his 50s affiliated with the Gyeongnam Office of Education, without detention on charges of assault and stalking, and are currently investigating.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of assaulting Ms. B, a woman in her 30s living in an officetel in Seongsan-gu, Changwon City, which he had arranged, and contacting her dozens of times from the 9th to the 11th of last month.
It is known that Ms. B reported the case, stating that after meeting Mr. A at a pub and continuing their meetings, she was subjected to assault and threats.
Mr. A is understood to work in the Secretary's Office of the Superintendent of the Provincial Office of Education and has denied the charges.
Ms. B is under personal protection measures, and a restraining order has been issued against Mr. A.
