Busan Port Authority Opens 12th BPA Hope Store, First Location in Gyeongnam
Busan Port Authority (BPA) opened the 12th BPA Hope Pantry on the 6th at the Changwon Jinhae Comprehensive Social Welfare Center in Gyeongnam.
The 'BPA Hope Pantry' is a sharing refrigerator installed by Busan Port Authority with budget support from the Public Coexistence Solidarity Fund, in collaboration with welfare centers and administrative welfare centers near the port area.
The 12th BPA Hope Pantry, the first to open in Gyeongnam, is located on the first floor of the Changwon Jinhae Comprehensive Social Welfare Center. Operating hours are every Tuesday and Thursday from 1 PM to 5 PM. The users are welfare center beneficiaries.

View original imageThe Jinhae Comprehensive Social Welfare Center installed the visible sharing refrigerator, BPA Hope Pantry, inside the center to provide visual enjoyment to residents and to allow anyone to freely donate and those in need to take items, participating as an operating institution of the BPA Hope Pantry.
Hanjin Busan Container Terminal, located in Jinhae-gu, also participated as the first donor to the 12th BPA Hope Pantry and plans to support food ingredients such as side dishes quarterly.
BPA plans to open up to the 15th pantry by October and will hold a 'BPA Hope Pantry Family Day' for operating institutions and donors, inviting children who use welfare centers to the Busan Port camping site.
Kang Jun-seok, President of BPA, said, "The Hope Pantry, which has served as a medium for sharing affection among neighbors by opening up to the 11th pantry in Busan, is expected to fulfill its role further in Gyeongnam."
From April to August, BPA Hope Pantry received 90 donations from the local community, and usage exceeded 2,000 times.
