Shilla Duty Free Wins 'Downtown Duty Free of the Year' at Cannes, France
Shilla Duty Free, operated by Hotel Shilla, announced on the 6th that it won the ‘Downtown Duty Free Store of the Year’ award at the ‘2023 DFNI Frontier Awards’ hosted by DFNI, a world-renowned duty-free industry magazine based in the UK.

View original imageThe DFNI Frontier Awards select outstanding companies that have shone in the travel retail industry, including duty-free stores, brands, and airports, over the past year. A panel of industry experts conducted evaluations across 20 categories starting from June.
The Downtown Duty Free Store of the Year award, which Shilla Duty Free received, is given to downtown duty-free stores that have demonstrated exceptional operational performance.
Shilla Duty Free Seoul branch provided customers with a digital spatial experience through various media art by installing a large media screen in the lobby area this year. It also launched a caf? (CAF? LA) in collaboration with the space planning company ‘Glow Seoul’ in the basement first floor and rooftop spaces. The caf? hosted various events such as brand promotions and expanded customer experience spaces by partnering with Amorepacific to showcase pop-up exhibitions.
Additionally, the Seoul branch was highly praised for significantly renovating its space this year by expanding and reopening the Prestige Lounge, a VIP customer-exclusive resting area, where various VIP events such as beauty classes and private galleries were held, thereby expanding customer contact points.
Shilla Duty Free Jeju branch not only transformed into a cultural space by opening a gallery on the first floor showcasing works by emerging Jeju artists but also opened a souvenir store on the second floor composed exclusively of distinctive local Jeju brands, receiving favorable reviews for its efforts toward coexistence with the Jeju local community.
