Creative video contest to showcase the charm of Hongdae Red Road... Results announced in November
Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) announced that it is holding a YouTube video contest titled "Shall We Play on Red Road?" to promote Hongdae Red Road, accepting submissions until the 16th.
Hongdae Red Road, a new brand and landmark of Mapo, is a tourism-specialized street connecting Gyeongui Line Forest Trail, Hongdae Walking Street, and Danginri Power Plant. It is themed in red, a color representing passion, youth, and vitality, adding an element of safety.
This contest aims to collect fresh and creative video content that can showcase the charm of the tourism-specialized street Red Road. Anyone can participate individually or in teams of up to five members, regardless of age or region.
The contest category is videos related to Red Road, approximately 3 to 5 minutes long. Videos can be in any genre, including vlogs, parodies, documentaries, animations, and more. However, the video must include at least one mandatory element listed in the announcement, such as experiencing the Red Road Dance Festival, outings around Red Road R1~R6, or featuring Red Road characters Kkaebi and Kkaesun.
Mapo-gu will conduct a preliminary screening of the submitted videos to select about 30 candidates for awards, then publish them on the Mapo Tourism YouTube channel (Visit Mapo) for public verification. During the public verification period, preference evaluations will be conducted based on views and likes, along with in-depth evaluations by internal and external judges, to select the final winning videos to be used as promotional videos for Mapo tourism.
The contest results will be available on the Mapo-gu Office website in November. Selected winners will receive certificates and prize money as follows: ▲Grand Prize (1 video) 5 million KRW ▲Excellence Award (1 video) 3 million KRW ▲Merit Award (2 videos) 1 million KRW ▲Encouragement Award (4 videos) 500,000 KRW ▲Popularity Award (22 videos) 100,000 KRW. Additionally, a participation event will be held where up to 50 applicants, excluding winners, will be randomly awarded a 10,000 KRW mobile gift certificate.
Participants wishing to enter should submit their MP4 files via email to the person in charge by 6 PM on the 16th. More detailed information about the contest can be found on the Mapo-gu Office website.
