Obigo, LGU+ Joins Commercialization of In-Car OTT... Leading Autonomous Driving and SDV Market

Expansion of Domestic and International New Car Applications Since OTT Streaming Service Commercialization
Obigo announced on the 5th that it has commercialized ‘U+ Mobile TV’ in collaboration with LG Uplus, following video streaming services (OTT) Watcha and Wavve for Hyundai and Kia. The service can be accessed through wireless (OTA) software updates for vehicles supporting SDV functions.
The customized service content for drivers, ‘U+ Mobile TV,’ offers free access to various channels including music, news, education, and hobbies. Starting with the launch of ‘U+ Mobile TV,’ Obigo and LG Uplus plan to continuously develop and provide new services through ongoing business cooperation to ensure drivers have a convenient and safe mobility experience. They also plan to actively collaborate to strengthen content services for Hyundai and Kia vehicles in the future.
In September last year, Obigo made equity investments and business partnerships with LG Uplus as part of leading the connected car market. While providing technical support to companies selected through a vehicle app service contest, Obigo is also focusing on discovering continuous vehicle content by cooperating with various CP companies.
Obigo CEO Hwang Doyeon said, "Discovering partners and business cooperation to expand new vehicle content will serve as a foundation for the future autonomous driving and SDV market," adding, "We will continue to lead the enhancement of various content for expanding vehicle app services through our partnership with LG Uplus."

Recently, Obigo launched a proprietary AAOS-dedicated vehicle app store to secure domestic and international vehicle content services. To provide personalized services in vehicles, they are promoting cooperation with service providers in news, music, healing, and fortune-telling. They are recruiting partners to expand essential vehicle services such as advertising, charging, in-car payment, parking, insurance, and vehicle management.
