On the 5th, the Office announced that it conducted a pilot class applying the program at Seohae Middle School, an 'IB Candidate School' located in Siheung City.
Seohae Middle School currently conducts classes and assessments reflecting concept-based inquiry learning, Approaches to Learning (ATL), and Approaches to Teaching (ATT).
Earlier in February, the Office selected 25 schools interested in the IB program. Since then, five additional schools have registered themselves as interested schools. By the end of this month, 18 candidate schools will be selected and operated.
Interested schools focus intensively on exploring the IB program and strengthening teachers' practical capabilities, while candidate schools apply IB class design centered on 'inquiry-action-reflection' and a systematic evaluation system.
To enhance teachers' practical capabilities in IB, the Office has conducted ▲ training with internationally certified IB professional instructors ▲ university-linked IB expert courses ▲ remote introductory courses on understanding IB ▲ customized training according to teacher roles such as principals, vice principals, coordinators, lead teachers, and librarians. So far, over 4,400 people have completed these courses.
