Kim Ki-hyun: "Kim Tae-woo Must Become District Mayor with Direct Hotline to the President"
Support Rally a Day Before Early Voting on 6-7th
All-Out Campaign at Hwagok Station Intersection at 6 PM
The People Power Party appealed for support for their candidate Kim Tae-woo by presenting a "powerful ruling party candidate" on the 5th, one day before the early voting for the 'October 11 Seoul Gangseo District Mayor By-election.'
Kim Ki-hyun, leader of the People Power Party, said at the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly on the same day, "To transform the old villa area, densely packed with multi-family and multi-household residences where it is difficult to even park one car, into a decent residential area with underground parking, green spaces, and culture, a powerful ruling party district mayor is necessary."
He added, "To promptly resolve the height restriction relaxation, a ruling party district mayor with a direct hotline to the President, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the Mayor of Seoul is essential."
Kim also stated, "The Gangseo District Mayor by-election is an election to choose a servant who works well and runs errands for the residents. It is an election to select a problem solver who will carry out the regional development projects and address local issues desired by the residents. It is not an election to choose a politician, nor is it an election to select an avatar to run errands for the opposition party leader instead of the residents." This was aimed at Jin Gyo-hoon, the Democratic Party candidate who was nominated through the party leader's strategic nomination rather than a preliminary candidate primary.
He also mentioned the achievements of candidate Kim Tae-woo, who has about a year of experience in district administration. Kim Ki-hyun said, "The three-party agreement among Seoul City, Gangseo District, and Gimpo City, which resolved the long-standing issue of relocating the vehicle depot and maintenance yard that the Democratic Party-affiliated district mayor could not solve during 16 years of long-term rule, was smoothly and swiftly resolved because all three local governments were led by People Power Party-affiliated mayors."
