Jung-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Kim Gil-seong) will hold a Lunchbox Festival at Sindang-ogil Alley Restaurant on the 6th.
The Sindang-ogil Alley Shopping District Merchants Association was selected for Seoul City's 'Local Commercial Area Revitalization Project Contest' and has been conducting a lunchbox product development project from May to September. The 'Social Cooperative for Urban Regeneration through Cooking (Chairman Lee Uk-jeong)' provided customized consulting in areas such as menu development, hygiene education, and packaging development.
Eight restaurants participating in the consulting developed lunchboxes using their signature dishes with the help of experts. A lunchbox tasting event was also held, actively reflecting the evaluations of the tasting panel. Merchants received online marketing training using Naver Smart Place and Instagram to ensure that the new menu development leads to increased sales.
Based on these achievements, the district will launch the 'Sindang-ogil Lunchbox Road.' On the 6th, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the 'Lunchbox Festival' will be held throughout the Sindang-ogil Alley Shopping District area (from Toegye-ro 88-gil to Toegye-ro 86-gil), where the newly developed lunchbox menus will be introduced to the public. Visitors to the event who purchase two lunchboxes on the day will receive a 5,000 KRW Onnuri gift certificate.
There will also be performances by invited singers and residents, as well as a receipt event. The Merchants Association will give gift certificates on a first-come, first-served basis: 5,000 KRW for customers who spend over 20,000 KRW, 10,000 KRW for those who spend over 50,000 KRW, and 20,000 KRW for those who spend over 100,000 KRW on the day of the event. Free clothing alterations, fashion painting experiences, traditional games, and a flea market will also be available.
The district expects that future support for vulnerable groups through corporate social responsibility (CSR) partnerships will be possible. The T&C Foundation (CEO Choi Tae-won) has expressed its intention to purchase lunchboxes and deliver them to low-income groups, drawing attention to the Sindang-ogil Alley Restaurant Revitalization Project within the local community.
