Lee Woo-seok (Kolon) and Lim Si-hyun (Korea National Sport University) won the gold medal in the archery mixed team event at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.
On the 4th, Lee Woo-seok and Lim Si-hyun defeated Japan's Furukawa Takaharu and Noda Satsuki 6-0 (38-37, 37-35, 39-35) in the final of the mixed team archery event held at the Puyang Yinhou Sports Center Archery Field in Hangzhou, China, securing the championship.
Although the Japanese players faltered by shooting a 7-point arrow, Lee Woo-seok and Lim Si-hyun remained steady. They scored 10 points 7 times out of 12 shots.
With this victory, Korean archery won the gold medal in the mixed team event at the Asian Games for the first time. They had failed to medal in this event when it was introduced at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games.
Lee Woo-seok, who won two silver medals in the men's team and individual events at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games, earned his first Asian Games gold medal with this win.
Lim Si-hyun, the youngest member of the women's national team selected for the first time this year, also won her first Asian Games gold medal. Lim aims to win multiple titles in the women's team event and the women's individual final.
Korean archery will continue its gold medal pursuit in the men's and women's team events, which will be held from the quarterfinals to the finals on the 6th.
In the women's individual final, Lim Si-hyun and An San (Gwangju Women's University) have advanced, securing Korea one gold and one silver medal. In the men's individual event, Lee Woo-seok is preparing for the bronze medal match.
On the 4th, Compound archery representatives Joo Jae-hoon (Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power) and So Chae-won (Hyundai Mobis) won the silver medal in the mixed team event and will challenge for double victories in the men's and women's team events on the 5th.
