Seong Nakin, Newly Elected Changnyeong County Governor, Indicted on Charges of Violating Public Official Election Act
Seong Nak-in, the governor of Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam, has been brought to trial on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act.
The Miryang Branch of the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office announced on the 4th that Seong was indicted on the 27th of last month for violating the prohibition on continuous donation activities.

According to the prosecution, Seong is accused of donating a certain amount to an organization he belonged to in the second half of last year while serving as a member of the Gyeongnam Provincial Assembly.

Previously, Seong ran as an independent candidate and was elected in the by-election held on April 5, following the death of former governor Kim Bu-young, who was indicted on charges of voter bribery during the nationwide simultaneous local elections.
