Amendment to the Enforcement Decree of the Disabled Enterprise Act Approved at the Cabinet Meeting
Details Required for the Basic Plan to Promote Disabled Entrepreneurs' Business Activities
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Lee Young) announced that the amendment to the Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Promotion of Activities of Disabled Enterprises (hereinafter referred to as the Disabled Enterprises Act Enforcement Decree), which stipulates necessary matters for establishing and implementing the basic plan to promote activities of disabled enterprises, was approved at the Cabinet meeting on the 4th.
This amendment to the Disabled Enterprises Act Enforcement Decree was made to define necessary delegated matters in the enforcement decree following the revision of the parent law, which requires the establishment and implementation of a basic plan for promoting entrepreneurship and activities of disabled enterprises every five years, and the establishment and implementation of an annual implementation plan.
The main contents include the scope of institutions or organizations subject to correction requests for discriminatory practices, necessary matters for establishing and implementing the basic plan, preparation, management, and disclosure of surveys and statistics, standards for installation and operation of specialized workplaces for the disabled, and designation of entrusted agencies.
With the introduction of the mid- to long-term basic plan for promoting activities of disabled enterprises, the annual implementation plan, and standards for installation and operation of specialized workplaces for the disabled, it is expected to support entrepreneurship among the disabled and enhance the economic power of disabled enterprises.

Minister Lee Young stated, "With this amendment to the enforcement decree, a legal basis for support projects encompassing various disabled economic actors is established, and a systematic support plan for disabled enterprises will be established in the mid- to long-term, which is expected to enable effective support."
