The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced on the 30th that they have arrested and detained a man in his 20s, Mr. A, who was driving under the influence, caused an accident, and fled the scene.
This man also tested positive for MDMA (Ecstasy) and amphetamines in a rapid drug screening test. It was found that he has a prior record related to drugs.
The police arrested Mr. A the previous day on charges including drugged driving and drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act, and plan to request a detailed examination from the National Forensic Service.
According to the police, at around 5:50 a.m. on the 28th, a report was received about a suspected drunk driver near Hakdong Station in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and after a pursuit, Mr. A was caught in the act.

During the chase with the police, Mr. A repeatedly collided with roadside trees and curbs. Mr. A, who was driving without a license, had a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 0.03%, the level for license suspension, according to the breathalyzer test.
