SH Corporation, 'Jungnang Startup Support Center Complex Project' Design Competition

Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation) is conducting a design competition for the ‘Jungnang Startup Support Center Complex Project’ located at 195-3, Sinnae-dong, Jungnang-gu, Seoul.

On the 27th, SH Corporation announced the ‘Jungnang Startup Support Center Complex Design Competition’ through the official Seoul city design competition website and other channels.

The ‘Jungnang Startup Support Center Complex’ is part of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s job-linked support housing project. This project aims to create a complex facility that provides stable residential spaces for young entrepreneurs and customized facilities and services to support the future growth of tenants on the startup support complex facility site within Sinnae 3 District, Jungnang-gu (around 195-3, Sinnae-dong). Although there were difficulties in reaching agreements among related organizations regarding the appropriate facility scale and cost-sharing plans in the early stages of the project, SH Corporation as the project implementer, along with Seoul City and Jungnang-gu, actively reviewed and negotiated to prepare the optimal project plan and proceeded with this design competition.

The main task of this design competition is to establish an architectural plan for the mixed development of 142 startup support housing units as residential facilities and non-residential facilities such as the startup support center and living support facilities by utilizing idle public land (former land) within the Sinnae 3 National Rental Housing District in Jungnang-gu.

Through this design competition, SH Corporation expects to receive creative and rational designs that can attract young startup populations by providing high-quality public housing and infrastructure optimized for startups, thereby contributing to strengthening regional competitiveness.

To ensure transparency and fairness in the process, SH Corporation plans to disclose the entire design competition evaluation process through the official SH YouTube channel. An expert panel of judges will select the best design proposals.

The design competition will accept online applications through the official Seoul city design competition website over two days, from October 11 to 12. Participation is only possible for those who have completed the submission of offline required documents.

The winning entry will be granted the priority negotiation rights for the design of the ‘Jungnang Startup Support Center Complex Project,’ and prize money will be awarded differentially to outstanding and runner-up entries.
