Ulsan Office of Education, Spreading School Innovation Culture through Educational Community Participation
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education will activate the Seoronanum School Education Community Network in the second semester to spread a culture of school innovation.
The Seoronanum School Network is a council where the education community takes the lead in voluntarily researching and resolving common problems and issues of the region and schools.
Since March, the Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education has been organizing and operating networks by stakeholder groups monthly or quarterly as needed for the education communities of 20 Seoronanum Schools, which are Ulsan-type innovative schools.
The stakeholder networks include 20 principals, vice principals, administrative office managers, teachers, and educational affairs staff each, and about 40 parents participate.
In September, the Ulsan Office of Education operated separate networks for teachers, parents, and principals.
At the parent network council held on the 19th at the Park Sang-jin Hall of the Ulsan Education Research and Information Institute, various ways to support teachers' legitimate educational activities were discussed. Excellent cases from other cities and provinces were also shared.
The teacher and principal networks also held meetings on the 15th and 19th to share school curricula and experiential events during the summer vacation. They discussed plans to share learning- and growth-centered educational activities and class innovations at all schools through the operation of the ‘Growth Sharing Day’ hosted by Seoronanum Schools.
In September and the upcoming November, roundtable discussions will be held under the themes of ‘Understanding Sex Education Properly’ and ‘Strengthening Innovative Schools,’ respectively, and in December, various activities such as sharing school-specific operational achievements will be promoted.
