"Want to Hear Your Voice" 40-Year-Old Man Sentenced for Trespassing
A man in his 40s who eavesdropped on a woman's conversation by pressing close to the exterior wall of a villa with windows was sentenced to prison.
According to the legal community on the 27th, Im Young-sil, Chief Judge of the Criminal Division 9 at Gwangju District Court, sentenced A (42) to one year in prison on charges of trespassing.
A was prosecuted for allegedly breaking into a villa in Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, four times between May and July, pressing his ear against the window to eavesdrop on a woman's conversation.
Despite being warned by police officers not to loiter around the villa, A ultimately committed the crime.
In 2014, he was previously punished for voyeuristically watching female residents through windows or eavesdropping on their voices to satisfy his sexual desires.
Chief Judge Im said, "The victims have not recovered from their fear, and there is no evidence to suggest efforts were made to restore the damage."
