An armored vehicle undergoing test driving was submerged off the coast of Nam-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongbuk, where the 1st Marine Division is stationed.
According to Hanwha Aerospace on the 26th, "Two defense industry personnel inside the armored vehicle went missing around 3 p.m. that day, and search operations are currently underway."

Military authorities, defense companies, the Coast Guard, and fire departments are conducting rescue operations. The Defense Acquisition Program Administration sent a text message to the Ministry of National Defense press corps stating, "During the test drive of the amphibious assault armored vehicle (KAAV-II), which is being developed under the supervision of the Agency for Defense Development (ADD), a flooding accident occurred," and added, "We are investigating the exact cause of the accident in close cooperation with related agencies."
