Time to Encourage Farmers and Listen to Their Difficulties
Park Il-ho, Mayor of Miryang City, Gyeongnam, visited the early-ripening rice harvest site located in Baeksan-ri, Hanam-eup, on the 25th, ahead of the rice harvesting season, to check this year’s rice harvest situation and to encourage farmers and listen to their difficulties.

After touring the rice harvest site, Mayor Park personally boarded a combine harvester to assist with the rice cutting work and shared the joy of the harvest while chatting with the farmers.
He also expressed his gratitude to the farmers who, despite many difficulties such as the long rainy season, heat waves, and summer typhoons, worked hard to cultivate rice and reap the fruits of their labor.

The city is currently promoting additional support for drone pest control and fungicides/insecticides to combat the rapidly spreading rice pests and diseases caused by abnormal weather, and is making every effort to control pests and diseases. This year, the rice cultivation area in Miryang City is expected to reach 4,339 hectares, with a production volume of 32,065 tons.
