Extorting Hundreds of Millions by Exploiting Celebrity Weaknesses... Police Request Arrest Warrant for Kim Yong-ho
The police have requested an arrest warrant for YouTuber Kim Yong-ho, who is accused of extorting hundreds of millions of won from celebrities in exchange for not exposing their weaknesses.
On the 26th, the Violent Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that they had applied for an arrest warrant for Kim on the 21st on charges of extortion.
Kim is accused of extorting hundreds of millions of won from several celebrities since August 2020 by threatening to reveal negative information about them on YouTube and demanding money to cover it up. The police conducted a search and seizure of Kim's residence and office in October last year and secured related materials. Additionally, Kim was summoned twice for questioning in June and July.
