BNK Gyeongnam Bank Donates 'Baekhap Nanumhoe Fund' to Welfare Facilities in Gyeongnam and Ulsan Regions
Used for purchasing Chuseok ritual items and operating welfare facilities
BNK Gyeongnam Bank announced on the 26th that it donated the ‘Baekhap Nanumhoe Fund’ to welfare facilities in the Gyeongnam and Ulsan regions in celebration of Chuseok.
The Baekhap Nanumhoe Fund of 15 million KRW was raised by combining 7.5 million KRW collected from all employees’ monthly salary contributions (spare change) with a 7.5 million KRW donation from BNK Gyeongnam Bank.
The fund was delivered to 35 welfare facilities recommended by branches in the Gyeongnam and Ulsan regions and will be used for purchasing Chuseok ritual supplies and operating expenses of the welfare facilities.
Kim Jong-hak, Head of the Social Contribution and Public Relations Department, and Shin Woo-sung, Branch Manager of the Miryang Branch, visited the Miribong Disabled Vocational Rehabilitation Facility (located in Sangnam-myeon, Miryang-si) as representatives of the welfare facilities and presented Director Min Young-woo with the ‘Baekhap Nanumhoe Fund Donation Certificate.’
Kim, Head of the Social Contribution and Public Relations Department, said, “Every year before the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays, we donate the Baekhap Nanumhoe Fund, filled with the love of our employees, to share warm affection with vulnerable groups in the region. We hope that the Baekhap Nanumhoe Fund donation, the Chuseok Volunteer Festival, and the Chuseok Love Sharing Project promoted by BNK Gyeongnam Bank will deliver hope throughout the region.”
Meanwhile, on the 23rd, BNK Gyeongnam Bank held the ‘Chuseok Volunteer Festival’ to support local traditional markets and the fisheries industry, along with volunteer activities voluntarily participated in by employees, to repay the love and support received from local residents and the community.
Bank President Ye Gyeong-tak and about 500 employees carried out various volunteer activities such as environmental cleanup and care activities at local traditional markets including Masan Fish Market, welfare facilities, and mountains and rivers throughout the region.

In addition, until before Chuseok (September 29), the bank is conducting the ‘Chuseok Love Sharing Project,’ delivering traditional market gift certificates and local love gift certificates worth approximately 416 million KRW to a total of 8,320 underprivileged households in cities and counties of Gyeongsangnam-do and the Ulsan region.
