'Geomi Jip' Selected as Opening Film of Hong Kong Asian Film Festival
Lead actor Song Kang-ho becomes the first Korean actor to hold a Masterclass
Director Kim Ji-woon’s film Geomi Jip (Spiderweb) will be screened as the opening film at the 20th Hong Kong Asian Film Festival, which will be held on the 13th of next month, distributor Barunson E&A announced on the 26th. The lead actor Song Kang-ho will attend the festival’s masterclass, becoming the first Korean actor to do so. He is scheduled to discuss the film with film industry professionals and film major students from universities in Hong Kong.
Geomi Jip will officially open in Hong Kong on the 26th of next month. Edko Films, the festival organizer and Hong Kong distributor, praised the film as "the most cinematic film in every aspect, with an outstanding script, exquisite setting, the astonishing performance of veteran actor Song Kang-ho, and a captivating ensemble cast."

Geomi Jip is a black comedy about 1970s film director Kim Yeol, who reshoots a film he had completed shooting. The cast includes Song Kang-ho, Im Soo-jung, Oh Jung-se, Jeon Yeo-bin, Jung Soo-jung, Jang Young-nam, and Park Jung-soo. It will be released domestically on the 27th.
