At the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games Taekwondo sparring mixed team event, the South Korean national team advanced to the finals, putting the gold medal within reach.

On the 25th, the Korean team, composed of Park Woo-hyeok, Seo Geon-woo (both from Korea National Sport University), Lee Da-bin, and Kim Jandi (both from Samsung S1), defeated the Uzbekistan team (Jasurbek Zayisunov, Shukhrat Salaev, Ozoda Sobirjonova, Svetlana Osipova) 48-47 in total points over 3 rounds in the semifinals held at the Lin'an Sports Culture Exhibition Center in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, advancing to the final.
The Korean team narrowly led Uzbekistan 18-15 in the first round. The close contest continued in the second round, ending with a combined score of 38-33 (sum of rounds 1 and 2). In the third round, Korea quickly scored 6 consecutive points to widen the gap. However, Uzbekistan kept chasing the score, and with 10 seconds remaining, the Korean team reached 48 points first, securing their place in the final.

The Korean team will face the Chinese team in the final. China defeated Vietnam 88-18 in the semifinals.

Meanwhile, the mixed team event was introduced for the first time at the Asian Games in this edition. Each team consists of four members: two men and two women, competing in one-on-one matches. In the first round, all four players compete for one minute each, totaling four minutes. The second and third rounds last three minutes each, with players substituted at any time. However, players only compete against opponents of the same gender.
