Kim In-seop, former CEO of Korea Housing Technology, who was arrested and indicted on charges of acting as a 'liaison lobbyist' for the Baekhyeon-dong development project, has requested the court to allow him to stand trial without detention.
On the 25th, Kim submitted a bail application to the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 27 (Presiding Judge Kim Ok-gon), which is handling his case under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes for bribery through mediation.
The court plans to hold a bail hearing on the morning of the 4th of next month to hear opinions from both Kim’s side and the prosecution before deciding on the bail. The maximum detention period for the first trial is six months, and Kim’s detention period is set to expire in early November this year.
