Discover Busan's Hidden Night Views!
Agreement on Night Tourism Data Construction between Busan City and Nikon at 2 PM on the 21st
Collaboration Including Free Provision of Photos and Video Data for Busan City Promotion Purposes
Busan City signed a business agreement with Nikon Imaging Korea (CEO Jeong Hae-hwan) on the afternoon of the 21st to build photo and video data for night tourism in Busan.
This is part of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s ‘Night Tourism Specialized City Development Project’ selected this year.
The city plans to discover hidden night attractions and night tourism content in Busan, focusing on Yongdusan Park and the Suyeong River area (APEC Naru Park), and promote Busan as an international night tourism city by building photo and video data through this agreement.
Although Busan’s landscapes and various festival and event sites are promoted through various media, photos related to night tourism, especially nightscape photos and content videos of Yongdusan Park and the Suyeong River area, are relatively insufficient.
Through this collaboration, they aim to establish and promote high-quality photo and video data to solidify Busan’s status as an international night tourism city.
With the agreement signed, ▲ Busan Tourism Organization (President Lee Jeong-sil) and Nikon will pursue a formal business contract, and ▲ Nikon will provide Busan City with various night photos and videos (including drone footage) taken by professional photographers free of charge.
The city plans to post the secured data on the Busan Tourism public website (Visit Busan) so that anyone can enjoy it for purposes other than private use.
Park Geun-rok, Director of the Tourism MICE Bureau of Busan City, said, “Through this agreement, we aim to build high-quality photo and video data by combining Nikon’s excellent products with the skills of professional photographers,” adding, “We will let not only Busan citizens but also people around the world know about Busan’s beautiful nights and transform Busan into a night tourism city that attracts domestic and international tourists all year round.”
The city and the organization were selected for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s ‘Night Tourism Specialized City Development Project’ under the international landmark category this year, receiving 2.8 billion KRW in national funding to develop and promote a night tourism specialized city over four years.
Starting with the ‘Korea Visit Year Relay Pop-up in Yongdusan’ at Yongdusan Park and the ‘Baby Shark Night Playground’ at APEC Naru Park in July, they successfully operated night tourism content such as the ‘Midnight Dinner Cruise,’ ‘Riverside DJing Party,’ and ‘Summer Horror Night City Tour’ in August.
In September and October, the ‘Midnight Dinner Cruise’ and ‘Korea Tourism Grand Festival in Thailand’ will be held, and in November, night programs at the Modern History Museum annex and the Night River Festa (concert) are scheduled.
Busan City and the organization plan to actively discover hidden scenic spots through this agreement while developing and operating various night tourism contents.
