Park Yong-jin "Lee Jae-myung Must Clearly State Yes or No on Arrest Warrant... That Is True Leadership"
"'Waiving Immunity from Arrest' Lee Does Not Urge Rejection Himself
'Any Outcome Causes Internal Turmoil... Must Show Representative Leadership'"
Park Yong-jin, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, said regarding the arrest motion for Representative Lee Jae-myung, which is expected to be processed at the National Assembly plenary session on the 21st, "So far, the representative himself has not expressed any grievances or urged for the motion to be rejected."
In an interview on KBS Radio's 'Choi Kyung-young's Strong Current Affairs' on the 20th, Representative Park stated, "Representative Lee has said several times, 'I will walk there on my own feet,' and giving up the privilege of non-arrest was also his campaign pledge."

He continued that internal confusion will arise regardless of the outcome, saying, "It seems that the members are all considering what kind of backlash they will face." He also predicted, "If it is rejected, the ruling party will fiercely criticize it as a 'bulletproof party,' and from the public's perspective, the Democratic Party will face difficulties for not keeping its usual promises. If it is approved, there will be various controversies within the party."
Representative Park said, "Of course, even if it is approved, it does not mean Representative Lee will be detained; he will only undergo a warrant hearing, and he is almost confident of his innocence," adding, "(However,) internal turmoil is inevitable, so it is appropriate for the representative to clearly state his position on approval or rejection."
