Fire During Apartment Remodeling in Sacheon... No Casualties Reported
A fire broke out in an apartment unit undergoing interior remodeling, burning the walls and ceiling.

At around 12:16 PM on the 19th, a fire broke out in an apartment in Jeongdong-myeon, Sacheon-si, Gyeongnam Province.
According to the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters and Sacheon Fire Station, the fire burned the walls and ceiling of the living room and kitchen of the 15th floor unit, the top floor of the apartment, as well as the exterior walls of the apartment, and was extinguished around 12:41 PM.
The unit where the fire occurred was undergoing interior renovation work such as replacing tiles, and the workers were reportedly out for lunch at the time.
Residents of the apartment also evacuated, and there were no casualties, but the fire caused property damage estimated at about 19 million won according to the fire department.
At the scene, 52 personnel including firefighters, police officers, volunteer firefighters, and Korea Gas Safety Corporation staff, along with 18 pieces of equipment such as pump trucks, water tanks, and aerial vehicles, were deployed.

The fire authorities believe the fire started from an outlet on the living room wall and are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
