Lotte Homeshopping Appoints 7th Viewer Committee... "Strengthening Protection of Viewer Rights"
Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 19th that it appointed members of the ‘7th Viewer Committee’ for the protection of viewers' rights at its headquarters in Yangpyeong-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the 18th.

The appointment ceremony was attended by Lotte Homeshopping CEO Kim Jae-gyeom, Marketing Director Park Jae-hong, Customer Satisfaction Division Head Kim Yu-taek, Broadcasting Review Office Director Park Sun-young, Chairman of the Viewer Committee Koo Jong-sang, as well as newly appointed members of the 7th Viewer Committee and related personnel.
Since July, Lotte Homeshopping recruited experts from various fields including media, economy and culture, and consumer protection, and through document screening and applicant verification, finally selected a total of 10 members. For the first time in the history of the Viewer Committee, members in their 20s were selected to diversify age groups, and the gender ratio was equally balanced to enhance fairness. Over the next two years, they will take the lead in activities to enhance the reliability of broadcasts and protect viewers' rights through regular meetings held at least once a month.
The 7th Viewer Committee consists of 10 members including Koo Jong-sang, professor of Broadcasting and Video Studies at Dongseo University (Chairman), Park Joo-hee, Secretary General of the Youth Foundation (Vice Chairman), Ko Jung-woo, lawyer at the law firm Daseung, Kim Dong-hyun, member of the Youth Policy Committee, Seo Hyung-seok, member of the Broadcasting Language Special Committee of the Broadcasting Review Board, and Yoo Won-sang, professor of Economics at Korea University.
Meanwhile, Lotte Homeshopping launched the Viewer Committee in 2017, the first in the industry, composed of experts in media, economy and culture, and consumer protection to protect viewers' rights. Through monthly regular meetings, the committee has represented viewers' positions by providing opinions on Lotte Homeshopping’s broadcast scheduling and program content and requesting corrections. From the 1st to the 6th committee, achievements included improvements in misleading expressions, enhanced subtitle readability, improved broadcast quality, and supplementation of product information.
