2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games Linked Promotion Campaign
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 18th that they conducted a campaign to promote the appeal of K-Winter Sports tourism in connection with the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games from the 15th to the 17th at the large shopping mall Wanxiangcheng (万象城) in Shenyang, China.

Held jointly with Gangwon Province and the Organizing Committee of the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games, this campaign promoted the upcoming Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games scheduled for January next year, while also hosting various events showcasing the charms of K-Culture such as Korean festivals, Hallyu, and shopping.
Prior to the campaign, on the 15th, a friendly ice hockey and figure skating match was held between Korean and Chinese youth. From the 16th to the 17th, a total of 15 organizations including domestic local governments, domestic and international airlines, local travel agencies, and duty-free shops participated to operate Korean travel promotion booths.

View original imageAdditionally, events such as K-pop random dance performances and dance competitions by Hallyu fans, a Korean tourism talk concert by popular influencers, and Korean tourist destination postcard making were held. A Hanbok experience zone and an Olympic sports experience zone were also operated.

Ha Sang-seok, head of the Korea Tourism Organization’s Shenyang office, stated, "We will continue to promote the appeal of K-Winter Sports and make every effort to attract Chinese tourists through active inbound promotions linked to the '2023-2024 Visit Korea Year.'"
