Development of Products for the Chinese Market Using Goheung Agricultural and Marine Products

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced on the 15th that it signed a business agreement with the Qingdao Marine Food Nutrition Innovation Research Institute in China to develop products for the Chinese market using Gohung-gun ingredients.

The Marine Food Nutrition Innovation Research Institute, a research institution under China Ocean University located in Qingdao, China, employs top marine food scholars in China and is a prestigious food research institute that has developed various products through collaboration with Chinese companies.

Governor Gong Young-min said, "To enter the global market for Gohung agricultural and marine products, localization and development of customized products for sale are necessary to survive in the market," adding, "Through today's agreement with the Qingdao Marine Food Nutrition Innovation Research Institute, we hope that Gohung's agricultural and marine products will be reborn as new products."

Vice Director Ryu Hong-in stated, "Our institute holds 230 patents for commissioned development by Chinese companies and is currently conducting more than 20 projects," and added, "Through today's business agreement with Gohung-gun, we will actively cooperate in developing various products using Gohung yuzu and gim (seaweed)."

A county official said, "This agreement has laid the foundation for realizing market-customized product development. We will strive to expand domestic and international sales channels for agricultural products through product development and promotional activities using not only yuzu and gim but also various ingredients from Gohung."
