Daejeon City Implements Comprehensive Chuseok Holiday Measures... "Focus on Resolving Daily Inconveniences and Traffic Congestion"
Daejeon City announced on the 18th that it will implement a comprehensive plan for the Chuseok holiday from the 18th of this month to the 3rd of next month.
The comprehensive plan consists of 65 policies across 8 areas including stabilization of low-income households, resolution of daily inconveniences, environmental maintenance, and citizen safety.
During the implementation period of the comprehensive plan, 595 employees from 8 teams including medical, transportation, cleaning/environment, disaster and fire services, and water supply will be deployed for on-duty operations.
First, Daejeon City plans to focus on managing holiday prices by ensuring smooth supply of essential goods and suppressing unreasonable price increases.
To this end, Daejeon City will operate a price stabilization situation room with autonomous districts this month and form a joint inspection team to control price increases, focusing on 15 key items that require special management.
Additionally, in cooperation with private organizations, price stabilization activities will be carried out, and a direct transaction market for excellent agricultural and specialty products will be operated at Nammun Square in City Hall (September 26-27), along with a sales booth for local excellent products on the first floor of Daejeon City Hall (September 14-27).
Measures to create a pleasant environment and improve traffic convenience will also be promoted. To address the issue of garbage accumulation that may occur during the Chuseok holiday, Daejeon City will establish a garbage collection system during the holiday period in consultation with related agencies and conduct special cleanup of illegal advertisements mainly in citizen parks and green areas.
In line with the Chuseok holiday, the city will minimize reduced operation on six major bus routes to key destinations such as Daejeon National Cemetery and Daejeon Memorial Park, lift the suspension of vehicles participating in the weekday car restriction program (September 25 to October 6), and temporarily allow parking on roads around traditional markets (until October 3) to expand transportation convenience.
Daejeon City will establish an emergency repair system for 278 bridges and tunnels on major arterial roads during the comprehensive plan period and conduct a thorough inspection of 36 large construction sites and key facilities such as traffic safety installations.
