KT Selected as the First Member of the 'Digital Talent Leaders Club'
KT announced on the 18th that it has been selected as the first company in the ‘Digital Talent Leaders Club.’
The Leaders Club is a certification process organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation as part of South Korea’s follow-up measures for its digital strategy and the full implementation of a comprehensive plan for digital talent development. It was established to encourage companies that play a leading role in nurturing digital talent and to promote a culture of digital innovation throughout society through public-private cooperation.
KT is actively engaged across all areas?from course design, education, to recruitment?to cultivate digital talent that will lead future businesses. Beyond this, KT is proactively sharing its accumulated internal experience, know-how, and educational infrastructure externally to promote comprehensive cooperation for nurturing future talent at the national level.
Recognizing these contributions, KT received the Minister of Employment and Labor Award last year at the ‘Employer Vocational Competency Development Training Best Practice Competition.’ The youth talent development program, Able School, has established itself as a leading digital talent academy in Korea by winning first place three consecutive times in hackathons hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. Additionally, the AI competency test AICE surpassed 10,000 cumulative test takers within nine months of its launch.
For the 2023 Leaders Club, many domestic companies participating in the Digital Alliance applied, and after an in-depth evaluation of the quality of educational programs, utilization of trained talent, and excellence of infrastructure, three companies including KT were finally selected. During the evaluation process, KT was recognized for its multifaceted efforts in digital talent development both inside and outside the company, including the production of digital education content, expansion of talent development education and partnerships, development of the AI competency test AICE, and operation of Able School.
