Dongdaemun-gu Small Business and Small Merchants Association Opens the 18th Leaders Academy
Opening of 'Leaders Academy' on the 15th to teach small business owners everything from labor laws to marketing know-how

Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced that on the 15th, the opening ceremony of the "18th Leaders Academy" operated by the Dongdaemun-gu Small Business and Small Merchant Association was held at the Dongdaemun-gu Lifelong Learning Center.
The Dongdaemun-gu Small Business and Small Merchant Association, established in 2013 to promote healthy support and development of small business owners by strengthening exchange and cooperation among small merchants and seeking solutions to their difficulties, is carrying out various projects to revitalize the local economy, such as publishing the newsletter "Hope News," hosting sharing markets, and operating various educational programs.
The "18th Leaders Academy" is a lecture series designed to provide various information and know-how necessary for business operation to enhance the self-sustainability of small business owners and prospective entrepreneurs in the region. It runs for a total of 8 weeks from September 15 to November 10. About 40 small business owners who applied for the academy in early September will participate in the academy every Friday from 6 PM for two hours at the Dongdaemun-gu Lifelong Learning Center.
The main lecture topics include ▲ Tenant rights viewed through the revised Commercial Building Lease Protection Act ▲ Instagram marketing ▲ Promotional marketing video production and YouTube utilization strategies ▲ Essential labor laws ▲ Store management ▲ Revenue models ▲ Methods to increase sales.
Those who complete at least 6 out of the 8 lectures will receive a certificate of completion issued by the Dongdaemun-gu Small Business and Small Merchant Association and, as regular members of the association, will be eligible for medical benefits at local university hospitals and free consultations on legal, tax, and other matters from advisory groups.
