Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage inside the bus showed that Mr. A, who boarded the bus, sat next to the intoxicated female passenger who was sleeping, leaving an empty seat between them. Shortly after, he began to sexually assault her by putting his hand under her skirt.
Passenger Mr. B, who was seated behind and witnessed the incident, quietly took out his phone and recorded Mr. A’s actions. He then gestured to another passenger, Mr. C, to alert him of the assault.
Mr. C approached the bus driver and informed him of the situation, leading to the driver reporting it to the police. When Mr. A sensed something was wrong and tried to get off the bus, the driver delayed him by encouraging him to exit through the front door instead of the rear door.
Eventually, Mr. A was arrested on the spot after getting off the bus. A police official stated, "The suspect sexually assaulted the victim for about 30 minutes," adding, "The video recorded by the passenger made it easier to prove the charges."
