HD Hyundai Energy Solution Wins Solar Module Order Worth 42.2 Billion KRW in Africa
Signed a Contract to Supply 130MW Scale Modules with Portuguese Company MCA
HD Hyundai Energy Solutions, a solar power subsidiary of HD Hyundai, is accelerating its efforts to penetrate the African market.
On the 14th, HD Hyundai Energy Solutions announced that it had signed a contract to supply 130 MW worth of solar modules to MCA in Portugal. The total contract value is 42.2 billion KRW.
Under this contract, HD Hyundai Energy Solutions will supply approximately 200,000 solar modules to MCA by February next year, and MCA plans to use these products for the construction of a solar power plant project (Solar II project) with a capacity of about 300 MW.
This project aims to supply electricity to about 200,000 households in 60 villages in the Angola region, led by the Angolan government, and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025. The 130 MW solar modules ordered this time are for the first phase of the project, while the second and third phases, totaling 170 MW, will be carried out in 2024 and 2025.
Previously, in May, HD Hyundai Energy Solutions also signed a contract with MCA for 22 MW worth of solar modules.
An official from HD Hyundai Energy Solutions said, "We are producing high-efficiency, high-quality modules that meet customer needs through continuous technological development," adding, "Based on the technological capabilities of HD Hyundai Energy Solutions, we will actively pioneer emerging markets such as Africa, as well as existing markets like the U.S., Europe, and Australia."
Meanwhile, HD Hyundai Energy Solutions is accelerating its efforts to lead the next-generation solar market by developing ultra-high-efficiency heterojunction technology (HJT) solar modules that minimize energy loss.
