Discounted Ticket Services for National Theater and Others
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 15th that it will collaborate with eleven national art institutions to offer discounted tickets for performances in the second half of the year to users of the Integrated Cultural Voucher (Munhwa Nuri Card). The Munhwa Nuri Card is a card-type voucher used by vulnerable groups for cultural arts, travel, and sports activities. This year, 2.67 million people will receive support of 110,000 KRW each.
The national art institutions are providing ticket discount services to expand opportunities for vulnerable groups to enjoy cultural arts. The performances include the National Theater of Korea's Simcheongga (September 26 to October 1), the National Opera Company's La Traviata (September 21 to 24), the National Theater Company's Jo's Orphan, Seeds of Revenge (November 30 to December 25), and the National Ballet Company's The Nutcracker (December 9 to 25; all 50% discount for Munhwa Nuri Card holders). The National Jeongdong Theater offers six performances, including the visible musical Showman (September 15 to November 12), for 10,000 KRW until the end of the year. Discount rates vary by performance. Detailed information can be found on the Munhwa Nuri website or mobile application.
