NSC Issues Stern Warning Message to North Korea and Russia
The National Security Council (NSC) issued a strong warning message to North Korea and Russia. On the 14th, the NSC stated, "Any acts by North Korea and Russia that threaten our security by violating United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions will undoubtedly come with clear consequences."
In a press release on the same day, the Presidential Office said, "During the regular NSC Standing Committee meeting chaired by National Security Office Director Cho Tae-yong, discussions were held regarding Kim Jong-un's visit to Russia." North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong-un held a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the 13th at the Vostochny Cosmodrome in Amur Oblast, Russian Far East. During this meeting, President Putin expressed his intention to assist North Korea in advancing high-tech developments such as satellites. Western countries have expressed concerns that North Korea and Russia might strengthen military cooperation.

The NSC Standing Committee members emphasized, "North Korea and Russia must comply with the UNSC resolutions and various international sanctions that prohibit arms transactions and military cooperation," adding, "In particular, Russia, as a permanent member of the Security Council, bears a heavier responsibility to adhere to the UN Charter and Security Council resolutions." Meanwhile, Chairman Kim Jong-un has been continuing his visit to Russia since the 12th. This visit marks his first to Russia in four years since April 2019.
