YGPA Hosts 'Traditional Market Day' Event Ahead of Chuseok
Revitalizing Traditional Markets, Donating Seafood to Social Welfare Facilities
Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, hereinafter referred to as the Authority) announced that it held a "YGPA Traditional Market Day for Chuseok" shopping event at Gwangyang Jinsang 5-day Market on the 13th and Yeosu Fish Market on the 14th.
The event was conducted by delivering various seafood purchased at local traditional markets directly to welfare facilities, with the participation of about 20 executives and employees including the president of the Authority.
The Authority selected Gwangyang Jinsang 5-day Market, recently transformed and reopened with modernized facilities, and Yeosu Fish Market, where consumption contraction is a concern, to revitalize the stagnant local economy and raise awareness of the safety of domestic seafood.
All seafood purchased at the traditional markets was donated to eight social welfare organizations operating free meal services for vulnerable groups in the Gwangyang and Yeosu areas, aiming to secure a social welfare safety net and support small business owners in traditional markets.
