The 11th Seoul International Children's Film Festival Opens Grandly in Eunpyeong
Opening on the 13th and running until the 20th... All the world's children's films in one place... Outdoor screenings, a talk concert with actress Park Jin-hee, picture book classes, and various events
The 'Seoul International Children's Film Festival,' where children's films from around the world can be seen in one place, opened on the 13th.
The 11th Seoul International Children's Film Festival, held for the first time in Eunpyeong-gu, received a record-breaking 3,164 film submissions from 108 countries worldwide. Among these, 136 films were selected to be screened during the festival.
The festival runs until the 20th at Lotte Cinema Eunpyeong, Eunpyeong Culture and Arts Center, Eunpyeong Hanok Village, and the Seoul Innovation Park area. It showcases works themed around children, films directed by children, and films featuring children as main characters.
At the opening ceremony held on the 13th, the event began with a congratulatory performance by the Eunpyeong-gu Children's Choir, followed by an opening declaration by Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, and the introduction and screening of the opening film, "Ama Gloria."
At noon on the 16th, a talk event with actress Park Jin-hee will be held at Eunpyeong Hanok Village. Actress Park Jin-hee will share her experiences as a mother and woman with the audience, with comedian Jang Hyo-in serving as the host.
On the 16th and 17th, two animated films will be screened outdoors at Hanmunhwa Public Parking Lot. "Zootopia" will be shown at 7:30 PM on the 16th, and "Super Kid Hailey" at 7:30 PM on the 17th. Admission is free, and prior registration can be made on the Seoul International Children's Film Festival website.
At the Eunpyeong History Hanok Museum, events that do not require prior registration are prepared. On the 16th at 11:30 AM, there will be a "Ttukttak Ttukttak Picture Book" event with picture book author Lee Ruri, followed by a music concert "Hanoktave" at 4 PM, and on the next day, the 17th, a magic show "Gimyohanok" will be held at 4 PM.
As a side event, the "Nan·Jang·Pan Flea Market Season 2" will be held from the 16th to the 17th in the outdoor yard of the Eunpyeong History Hanok Museum. Operating hours are from 11 AM to 6 PM.
The closing ceremony will be held at 5:30 PM on the 20th at Seoul Innovation Park. Popular celebrities Haha and announcer Lee Byung-chul will host the event. The ceremony will open with a Hanbok fashion show, a red carpet, and an orchestra conducted by Geum Nan-sae, followed by the awards ceremony. The congratulatory performances will feature trot prodigy Hwang Min-ho and the group Nine to Six.
