NewsTapa and JTBC Raids... Lee Kyung: "Yoon Must Be Afraid His Corruption Will Be Exposed"
On the 14th, as the prosecution investigating allegations of false reporting related to the Daejang-dong incident during the last presidential election phase conducted raids on Newstapa and JTBC, Lee Kyung, the standing deputy spokesperson of the Democratic Party of Korea, raised suspicions, suggesting that they might be afraid that the allegations against President Yoon Seok-yeol contained in Newstapa's report would be revealed.
On the same day, Lee posted on his social media (SNS), "Newstapa and JTBC are being raided," adding, "They must be afraid that the allegations of Prosecutor Yoon Seok-yeol’s corrupt investigation of the Busan Savings Bank case will be exposed."
The "allegations" mentioned by the deputy spokesperson refer to the content mentioned in an interview with Kim Man-bae and Shin Hak-rim, former chairman of the Media Union, reported by Newstapa three days before the last presidential election, claiming that President Yoon, during his time as a prosecutor, conducted a lenient investigation of the loan broker Jo Woo-hyung in the Busan Savings Bank case.
This is interpreted as meaning that the prosecution conducted raids on Newstapa and JTBC to cover up these allegations.
