Over 20 Parents and Netizens File Complaints in Sei Elementary Pencil Incident
A parent involved in the so-called 'Pencil Incident,' which occurred six days before a teacher at Seoicho Elementary School in Seocho-gu, Seoul, passed away, has filed a lawsuit against about 20 netizens.
On the 13th, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul announced that the parent had submitted a complaint the previous day against about 20 netizens on charges of defamation.
The Pencil Incident took place on the 12th of last month, when a student in the deceased teacher's class drew a line on another student's forehead with a pencil. Six days later, the teacher was found dead on school grounds, and claims emerged that the parent had been subjected to malicious complaints. The police conducted a forensic examination of the parents' mobile phones but did not find clear evidence of criminal activity.
