Silla University Volleyball Club ‘BOSS’ Wins Championship in First Tournament Appearance
The volleyball club ‘BOSS’ from the Department of Physical Education at Silla University participated for the first time in the ‘KUSF Volleyball (Men) Club Championship 2023 Southern Regional Qualifiers’ and won the championship.
The ‘KUSF (Korea University Sports Federation) Club Championship Southern Regional Qualifiers’ was held from August 24 to 27 at the gymnasium of Gyeongsang National University, with 24 teams participating.
KUSF has been actively supporting and organizing university club sports competitions and leagues by sport since 2014 to provide many sports participation opportunities for university students and to foster a culture of one student, one sport.
The volleyball club ‘BOSS’ from Silla University, which won the Southern Regional Qualifiers in this volleyball event, was founded earlier this year by recruiting students who love volleyball, mainly from the Department of Physical Education. Not only students from the Department of Physical Education but also some students from other departments are active members of the club.

In this competition, the MOM (Man of the Match) awards were given to Jeong Jinha, a third-year student in the Department of Physical Education, and Kim Junho, a third-year student in the Department of Police Administration, both from ‘BOSS’.
Jeong Jinha from the Department of Physical Education at Silla University said, “It was not just because I did well alone that we won, but it was a result that could be achieved thanks to the interest of the professors and the support of seniors, juniors, and peers.”
He added, “During the matches, we received many compliments on the unity of BOSS, which seems to reflect the sense of belonging and closeness among the team members. I think our BOSS club has grown even more through this competition, and I am very happy to have achieved good results together with my teammates.”
