POSCO Group will hold the 5th "2023 POSCO Forum," discussing future growth strategies, for three days starting from the 12th at the POSCO Global R&D Center in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon.
The POSCO Forum is a gathering where all executives of the group companies attend to diagnose domestic and international economic conditions and changes in industrial paradigms, and discuss solutions for the group’s sustainable growth with experts from various fields.
This year, under the theme "Real Value Management, Adding Value to the World," discussions will focus on realizing real value in the seven core businesses (steel, hydrogen, secondary battery materials, lithium·nickel, energy, construction, food) and the group’s growth direction.
Real Value is a term coined by POSCO Group, referring to the total sum of all tangible and intangible values created through business activities. It encompasses economic, environmental, and social values provided to members of society. Since the transition to a holding company system in March last year, POSCO Group Chairman Choi Jeong-woo has continuously emphasized real value management. At the holding company launch ceremony, he stated, "POSCO Holdings must dramatically enhance the value of POSCO Group through real value management."
The POSCO Forum is conducted both online and offline simultaneously. About 120 people, including Chairman Choi of POSCO Group, key group executives, outside directors, and corporate citizenship advisory committee members, will attend the forum on-site, while group employees who cannot attend will watch the forum live in real time.
Chairman Choi said, "The real value stories shared through the forum should be further developed and used as an effective tool to communicate the group’s growth vision," and urged, "Executives must lead by example and spare no support in enhancing the capabilities of members." He also emphasized, "Let us create an organizational culture where employees can freely express their creativity."
On the first day, the keynote speech will be delivered by Raj Ratnaka, Vice President of Strategy at DuPont, sharing insights on business transformation for sustainable growth and ways to increase corporate value. Following this, in the future session, forum participants will discuss key business inflection points and new growth strategies in response to the evolution of industrial structures.
From the afternoon of the first day through the second day, group management will directly present real value stories for POSCO Group’s seven core businesses, and through lectures and discussions with external panelists, they will deeply explore ways to realize real value and future strategic directions.
