Xperix Wins Contracts Simultaneously from Brazil Federal Police and Traffic Police Bureau
Xperix (CEO Yoon Sang-chul) announced on the 11th that it has simultaneously secured contracts for the immigration system upgrade project led by the Brazilian Federal Police and the State of Para Multibiometric System construction project led by the Traffic Police Department.
The company held a meeting on the 5th at the Xperix R&D Center in Seoul with Akiyama SA, a Brazilian company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) and biometrics, and signed supply contracts with the Brazilian Federal Police and the Traffic Police Department. This confirms Xperix's entry into the Brazilian integrated identity verification solution for immigration and the integrated identity verification construction solution for the police department.
Akiyama (AKIYAMA DA CRUZ ISMAEL), president of Akiyama, who visited the company, stated, “The passport readers previously used in Brazil were European products, but we confirmed the excellence of Xperix’s ‘RealPass-N,’ which incorporates the latest passport recognition technology. Through this immigration system upgrade project, Brazil aims to introduce a modern and enhanced immigration system.” He added, “The Brazilian government is conducting the ‘National Road Safety Plan’ project, targeting a 50% reduction in traffic accident fatalities by 2028.”
So far, Xperix’s passport readers have been recognized in immigration projects and have been installed at Incheon Airport, receiving positive responses. Not only domestically but also at Taiwan’s Taipei Taoyuan Airport, where American products were previously used for foreigner immigration control, the products were recently replaced with Xperix’s high-performance devices. Building on this experience, the company is working to actively enter overseas immigration system projects and the air transportation sector, planning to expand bidding and contract wins in overseas markets such as South America and Europe.
Yoon Sang-chul, CEO of Xperix, said, “The Brazilian government confirmed our successful project execution in neighboring countries such as Chile and Colombia and adopted our already verified solutions.” He added, “These existing cases will be a driving force for overseas expansion and are helping accelerate entry not only into South America but also into India and Africa.”
