Strong Collection Measures Including License Plate Seizure and Towing for High-Amount and Habitual Tax Delinquent Vehicles... Economic Recovery Support for Livelihood Tax Delinquents Such as Small Business Owners and Self-Employed
Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) will focus on license plate seizure activities for vehicles with overdue fines and automobile taxes throughout September.
The district has designated September as the "License Plate Seizure Focus Month" to expand independent revenue sources and foster a culture of diligent payment, and will begin a comprehensive cleanup of delinquent vehicles.
As of the end of July, the amount of overdue automobile-related fines in Eunpyeong-gu stands at 9.2 billion KRW, accounting for 80% of the total overdue fines.
Through this focused seizure effort, the district plans to collect automobile-related overdue fines early and prevent habitual delinquency.
For high-amount and habitual delinquents, strong collection measures such as seizure and public disclosure of names will be pursued. For livelihood-related delinquents such as small business owners and self-employed individuals, economic recovery will be supported through license plate seizure deferrals and installment payment inducements.
